Simple Ways to Boost Your Immune System

Woman applying skin care products in the mirror. Spavia means a pathway to wellness. We care about your health at our spa, so we’ve put together a simple guide on how to boost your immune system during these uncertain times. Take a preventative approach to your well-being by following the necessary steps to improve your immunity to germs and ensure your overall health. Get a good nights rest It is a well-known fact that lack of sleep suppresses the immune system. If you want to fight off illnesses, it is imperative that you get adequate sleep. Turn off your phone, have some chamomile tea, snuggle up with a book or listen to soothing music. Getting exercise in throughout the day can also help to increase your sleep. Working out will also improve your mood by releasing endorphins. Sleep deprivation is connected to ailments including heart disease and stroke so seven to eight hours of sleep is recommended to boost your immune system so sleep well! In order to ensure you get the proper amount of uninterrupted sleep each night, it is suggested that your bedroom be kept at a cool, comfortable temperature. Black out curtains can also help extend your sleep cycle. Focus on nutrition Maintaining a healthy diet is an integral part of keeping your immune system high. Good nutrition can reduce the risk of chronic illness and help your body to fight off germs. Maintaining a balanced diet includes a proper intake of vitamins, minerals, fruits, vegetables and food low in fats. Taking Vitamin D supplements will help replace exposure to sunlight while in quarantine. If you can, get out and get a little natural vitamin D with Mother Nature’s sunshine! Eating well provides a much-needed energy boost while you are spending long periods of time indoors. Caffeine and alcohol are both dehydrating and can ultimately lower your energy. Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet to feel your best, to ward off sickness and keep your immunity strong. Practice Self-care Taking good care of yourself whether it is cosmetically, hygienically or mentally is proven to encourage a healthy immune system. Practicing habits like maintaining a skin-care routine, staying clean and meditating can drastically affect your overall health. Relax with Our New CBD Oil Massage Treatment

Cause + Medic bottled products displayed on gray and white towels. There has been a lot of excitement and talk around CBD oil over the past few years, and for good reason. There are so many physical benefits of CBD infused products including reduced muscle pain, and alleviation of stress. Spavia Day Spa’s CBD boosted massage treatments offer deep relaxation and relief from sore muscles. Experience the benefits of our newest Cause + Medic products in one of two ways. Receive a full-body massage treatment with CBD infused massage oil and spot treatments with pain cream or receive a CBD pain cream boost with spot treatments on focused areas only. Both methods will soothe and stretch your muscles for a relaxing and transformative spa experience. The facts: CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is the cannabinoid in cannabis. It does not contain THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, a crystalline compound that is the main active ingredient of cannabis, so there is no “high effect.” It does, however, provide a deeply relaxing effect. Cause + Medic products are also vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, plant-based, organically grown and socially responsible. Recyclable materials are used to ship, tape, and box the products to ensure that the production and shipping processes have the smallest impact on the planet as possible. Cause + Medic products are not only green, but also clean! The CBD products contains ingredients that can only be found in Mother Nature. The formula used can clean soil without harming it and can sanitize plant leaves from dust and debris to promote effective photosynthesis. This also assists in flushing out lines and tanks without the use of harsh chemicals. The focus is to keep plants, the environment and growing tools in the cleanest condition possible. The benefits:
  • Reduced tension: CBD massage oil helps to relieve tension in the body and the mind. The oil eases and relaxes your muscles as the cannabinoids enter the endocannabinoid system via the skin. Since CBD massage oil doesn’t contain THC, you won’t feel ‘high,’ but you will be able to enjoy the relaxing after glow of your treatment.
  • Relieves Chronic Pain: CBD is proven to be effective in treating bodily pain. The cannabinoids in CBD massage oil helps to reduce inflammation and soothe muscles. This makes it very efficient at providing relief from painful joints and muscles. If you deal with chronic pain, our treatments will be a huge help.
  • Alleviates stress and anxiety: CBD oil induces a soothing and calming effect that can help people who struggle with anxiety. A massage without CBD oil will help you to de-stress and paired with CBD oil, your massage will be doubly as relaxing.
  • Improves skin:  CBD massage oil contains hemp which conditions the skin, making it supple and soft. Not only does this help you feel better and more relaxed after the massage, but it can also help with skin conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis or even just dry skin.
  • Boosts energy and overall mood: A massage with CBD oil will elevate your overall experience and make it much more enjoyable. You’ll leave your treatment with smoother skin, relaxed muscles, and feeling less stressed. All these elements combined will provide a massive boost to your mood.
Now that you know how CBD can enhance your massage experience, shouldn’t you be able to experience it? Contact your local Spavia Day Spa to purchase the Cause + Medic products and to learn how to schedule your treatment.

Spavia - Countdown to Launch: Spavia 2.0 and New Urban Millennial Brand

Denver, CO. February 14, 2020  The innovative team at Spavia is pushing the industry forward once again as the national franchise announces updates to the brand along with the reveal of a new spa brand targeting the millennial market.  The new look and feel, colloquially known as Spavia 2.0, will be revealed on February 20, 2020 along with the new brand concept from the company. After a nationwide search and intensive vetting, the Spavia team integrated the best creators and designers in the country to create new and original work that pushes the industry forward. At its core, Spavia 2.0 is focused on further improving the guest experience to create an environment that rejuvenates the body and soul. “We’ve identified a continuing need to fill a market gap by delivering a higher level of service. Our goal is to have the right balance of design and technology with focus on a multisensory experience,“ said CEO Marty Langenderfer. “The new Spavia multisensory experience will focus on blending art & technology to create a seamless guest experience. Spavia 2.0 will feature new designs, music, scents, and technological innovations to make booking appointments, selecting music, and purchasing memberships even easier.” For the company's new brand, which will be revealed on the 20th, the Spavia team took inspiration from the emergent cultural centers of Barcelona, New York, and Southern California. For Marty “finding the right team of millennials who understood where the culture was going was very important to us to get it right”. The brand blends the art, culture, and relaxed environment of millennial brands with the expertise and experience of Spavia’s national team. Fifteen years ago, when Spavia founders created the first concept,  they saw a strong need in the marketplace as membership massage clinics started to enter the market with lower priced massages without the consumer deserving key elements of guest services and  experience. “We know the educated, spa consumer wants more and with this in mind designed the Spavia spa with real, tranquil retreats, luxurious robes, and spa sandals.” About Spavia Spavia delivers a luxurious spa experience at an affordable price and provides a variety of spa massages, facials and skin care, body wraps and scrubs, waxing, lash extensions,  make-up, and an opportunity to celebrate with a spalebration™ all in a relaxing and tranquil setting. Spavia’s spa boutique provides products for home-care regimens to achieve optimal results or  beautiful selections for gift giving. In 2005, the first Spavia opened in Centennial, CO with a mission to make a positive difference in the world, one guest at a time.  Spavia founders, Marty and Allison Langenderfer, have 30+ years combined experience in the spa industry providing core knowledge to deliver an exceptional guest spa experience, along with strong systems and a scalable structure. In late 2019, Spavia opened its 45th location, and continues to grow. Spavia was born out of a passion for spa and entrepreneurship.  Anyone interested in learning more about opening a Spavia day spa franchise, please visit the Spavia website at https://franchise.Spaviadayspa.com Contact: Marty Langenderfer at marty@Spaviadayspa.com

Why You Should Schedule a Hot Stone Massage at Spavia Day Spa

A woman lying on her stomach on a massage bed with hot stones on her back. A hot stone massage is one of the most relaxing, comforting, and luxurious, body treatments offered at Spavia Day Spa. We place smooth, basalt stones that retain heat along the back to deeply penetrate tense muscles, release toxins, restore balance in the body and to leave you in a relaxed state. The Process: Before using the stones, the therapist will gently massage the body for a few minutes using oil to warm up the tissues and loosen muscles. The stone are then removed from the pot and cooled to a tolerable temperature for skin contact. The therapist will make sure the temperature of the rocks is comfortable for the client. The therapist will begin by placing one of the larger stones, wrapped in a towel, near the end of the spine. They will use a stone in each hand to gently glide them up and down the back to spread the tissue and release muscle tension. Longer, pointed stones are used in order to get deeper into muscles, such as the scapula or the base of the back. The Benefits:
  • Relieves muscle tension and pain: Heat helps increase blood flow to the affected areas and reduces muscle spasms. Hot stone massages also help to increase flexibility and range of motion.
  • Reduces anxiety and stress: The physical reduction of pressure can help to reduce stress. You will leave feeling clear-headed and rejuvenated.
  • Releases toxins from the body: A hot stone massage is especially beneficial because heat makes your blood vessels expand, allowing more oxygen to get to your muscles and allowing more toxins to move out of your blood stream.
  • Allows you to get more out of your massage: Since the stones release tension in the muscles, your therapist will be able to deeply penetrate and knead your muscles, providing a longer lasting effect on your body.
Experience a deep state of relaxation with our hot stone massage. Schedule your treatment at Spavia Day Spa.
